President Higgins addressed a gathering in Sligo, the spiritual home of W.B. Yeats, organised to mark the 150th anniversary of the poet's birthday.

President Higgins became Patron of “Yeats 2015”, a year-long festival celebrating the Nobel Prize winning poet.
As part of the festival, the President read “A Prayer For My Daughter”. You can listen to the President’s rendition of the poem here.
