President and Sabina Higgins visited Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn in Tralee, Co. Kerry.
Hundreds of schoolchildren greeted the president who stopped off at the school – which is named after Roger Casement – before going to the 1916 State commemoration at Banna Strand. The President spoke to children and staff about the legacy of Roger Casement and the men and women of the 1916 Rising.
