President Connolly will officially start the Streets of Galway road race.
The Streets of Galway is an 8km road race in its 40th year, organised by Galway City Harriers around the streets of Galway City.
Since its inception in 1986 the event has grown into one of the most prestigious road races in the country and remains true to its original motto of Sport for All, as many locals and visitors take on the event each year.
Galway City Harriers is a voluntary organisation run by a group of volunteers with all funds raised used to promote greater participation in athletics in Galway.
