Their Excellencies, the Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic, the Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe and the Ambassador of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas presented their Letters of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin today.
H.E. Mrs. Ekaterini Simopoulou, Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic was accompanied by her spouse, Mr. Aristidis Sandis and her daughter, Miss Eleni Sandi and Mrs. Polina Chotzoglou, Deputy Head of Mission;
H.E. Col. (Rtd.) Christian M. Katsande, Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe was accompanied by Mr. Terrence Madzorere, Counsellor.
H.E. Mr. Ellison E. Greenslade QPM, Ambassador of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Kimberly Greenslade, and Mr. Marché Mackey, Vice Consul at the Embassy;
Minister Kevin "Boxer" Moran, T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform with special responsibility for the Office of Public Works and Flood Relief, represented the Government at the ceremony.
The following were also present: Mr. Conor Ó Raghallaigh, Deputy Secretary General to the President; Col. Liam Condon, Aide-de-Camp to the President; Mr. John Conlan, Assistant Secretary, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Mr. Feilim McLaughlin, Mr. Joe Brennan, Ms. Marylee Wall, Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The Ambassadors were accompanied to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2 Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin, under the command of Lieutenant Brian O’Shea.
A Guard of Honour was provided at Áras an Uachtaráin by the 3rd Infantry Battalion, Stephens Barracks, Kilkenny, under the command of Second Lieutenant Ben Nolke.
Captain John Carpenter conducted the Army No. 1 Band, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin.
