Ambassadors present their Credentials

Their Excellencies, the Ambassador of the Republic of Chile, the Ambassador of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and the Ambassador-Head of Mission of the Palestinian Mission presented their Letters of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin.

H.E. Ms. Carla Serazzi, Ambassador of the Republic of Chile was accompanied by her husband, Mr. Sergio Chacon, her daughter, Miss Francisca Chacon-Serazzi, and Mr. Daniel Mora, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of the Republic of Chile.

H.E. Mr. Phongsavanh Sisoulath, Ambassador of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Monekeo Sisoulath and Ms. Niphonekham Khammounheuang, Third Secretary, Embassy of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.        

H.E. Dr. Jilan Abdalmajid, Ambassador-Head of Mission of the Palestinian Mission, was accompanied by her husband, Mr. Rami Abdullmagid, daughters, Ms. Sara Abdulmagid and Ms. Mona Abdulmagid, and son, Mr. Mohammed Abdulmagid.

Mr. Finian McGrath, T.D., Minister of State for Disability Issues, represented the Government at the ceremony.

The following were also present: Mr. Art O’Leary, Secretary General to the President; Mr. Brendan Rogers, Deputy Secretary General, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ms. Emma Madigan, Chief of Protocol, Mr. Joe Brennan and Ms. Marylee Wall, Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The Ambassadors were accompanied to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2 Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin, under the command of Lieutenant Jason Nugent.

A Guard of Honour was provided at Áras an Uachtaráin by 1st Armoured Cavalry Squadron, DFTC, Curragh Camp, under the command of Lieutenant Colm Fahy.

Captain John Carpenter conducted the Army No. 1 Band, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin.
