Ambassadors present their credentials

The Ambassadors of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Republic of Cuba and the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire presented their Letters of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin today.

H.E. Mrs. Deike Potzel, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany was accompanied by the Deputy Head of Mission, Mr. Josef Reichhardt.

H.E. Mr.Hugo Ramos Milanes, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, was accompanied by his spouse Mrs. Soraya Torres Jaime.

H.E. Mr. Georges Aboua, Ambassador of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, was accompanied by Mr. Mory Diarassouba, Commercial Counsellor.

 

Mr. Pat Breen, T.D. Minister of State for Trade, Employment, Business, EU Digital Single Market and Data Protection, represented the Government at the ceremony.

The following were also present: Mr. Art O'Leary, Secretary-General to the President; Col. Michael Kiernan, Aide-de-Camp to the President; Mr. Ruairí de Búrca, Assistant Secretary in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Mr. Feilim McLaughlin, Mr. Joe Brennan and Ms. Claire Buckley, Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The Ambassadors were escorted to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2 Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin., under the command of Lieutenant Karl Dempsey.

A Guard of Honour was provided at Áras an Uachtaráin by the 12 Infantry Battalion, Sarsfield Barracks, Limerick under the command of Lieutenant Seamus Shannon. Captain John Carpenter conducted the Army No. 1 Band, Cathal Bruagh Barracks, Dublin.
