Ambassadors present their credentials

(1) H.E. Dr. Helmut Freudenschuss, Ambassador of Austria

(2) H.E. Ms Yasmina Karitanyi, Ambassador of Rwanda

(3) H.E. Mr. Daniel Eduardo Fabrega Venier, Ambassador of Panama

 

Their Excellencies, the Ambassadors of Austria, the Republic of Panama and the Republic of Rwanda presented their Letters of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin today.

H.E. Dr. Helmut Freudenschuss, Ambassador of Austria, was accompanied by Ms. Stephanie Winkler, Minister-Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission, and his wife, Ms. Sigrid Freudenschuss.

H.E. Mr. Daniel Eduardo Fabrega Venier, Ambassador of the Republic of Panama, who travelled from London for the event.

H.E. Ms. Yamina Karitanyi, Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda, was accompanied by

Mr. Fidelis Mironko, First Counsellor, and also travelled from London.

Ms. Marcella Corcoran-Kennedy, T.D., Minister for Health Promotion, represented the Government at the ceremony.

The following were also present:  Mr. Art O’Leary, Secretary-General to the President; Col. Michael Kiernan, Aide-de-Camp to the President; Mr. James Kingston, Assistant Secretary, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Ms. Síle Maguire, Mr. Joe Brennan, and Mr. Patrick O’Reilly, Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The Ambassadors were escorted to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2nd Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin, under the command of Lieutenant Stephen Bunney.

A Guard of Honour was provided at Áras an Uachtaráin by the Naval Service, Haulbowline, Cork under the command of Sub-Lieutenant Eoin Mackey.  

Captain Fergal Carroll conducted the Army No. 1 Band, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin.
