As Patron of Irish Design 2015 (ID2015), President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins officially launched the ID2015 flagship touring exhibition at the Design Hub in Dublin Castle. Liminal – Irish design at the threshold has achieved widespread international acclaim this year, having been presented at design weeks in Milan, New York and Eindhoven where it wowed audiences and was featured in high profile design publications such as Design Milk, Dezeen, Wallpaper, Dwell and Elle Décoration.
Liminal features more than 30 Irish designers, architects, companies and studios involved in collaborations across disciplines, and is the touring flagship exhibition for ID2015, the year-long initiative backed by the Irish government promoting and celebrating Irish design in Ireland and internationally. It explores the craft of collaboration across design disciplines and presents the exploratory journeys undertaken by designers. Moving through a series of venues around the world before concluding its 2015 touring programme in Dublin, and continually evolving during the year, the exhibition demonstrates the breadth of Irish design excellence and considers the possibilities for the future. The exhibition opened to the public at the Design Hub in Dublin Castle on Friday, 20th November and continues until Wednesday 30th December.
