New Ambassadors present Credentials

Their Excellencies, the Ambassadors of the Republic of Kenya, the Republic of Guinea and the Republic of Singapore presented their Letters of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin on the 20th January, 2015 while their Excellencies, the Ambassador of Canada, the Ambassador of the Plurinational State of Bolivia and the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia presented their Letters of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin on the 21st January 2015.
H.E. Mr. Richard Angulu Opembe, Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya, was accompanied by his wife, Suzanne Wanjiro Gachukia Opembe, their children Mr. Jesse Eshikhati Opembe, Ms. Appalonia Chao Opembe and Mr. Miles Khayumbi Gachukia Kibukosy and by Mrs. Immaculate N. Wambua, Minister Counsellor at the Embassy.
H.E. Mr. Paul Goa Zoumanigui, Ambassador of the Republic of Guinea, was accompanied by Mr. Jean Emile Curtis, First Secretary at the Embassy.
H.E. Ms. FOO Chi Hsia, Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore, was accompanied by Mr. MAK Yong Yang, Second Secretary at the Embassy.
H.E. Mr. Kevin Michael Vickers, Ambassador of Canada, was accompanied by Ms. Jackie Ellis, General Relations Officer at the Embassy.
H.E. Mr. Roberto Calzadilla Sarmiento, Ambassador of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, was accompanied by Ms. Lenny Vidal, Second Secretary at the Embassy.
H.E. Mr. Armen Sarkissian, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia, was accompanied by Mr. Ara Margarian, Counsellor at the Embassy
Mr. Seán Sherlock, T.D., Minister of State for Development, Trade Promotion and North-South Cooperation at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, represented the Government at the ceremony on the 20th and Mr. Dara Murphy, T.D., Minister of State for European Affairs and Data Protection at the Departments of An Taoiseach and Foreign Affairs and Trade, represented the Government at the ceremony on the 21st.
The following were also present: Mr. Art O’Leary, Secretary-General to the President; Mr. Conor Ó Raghallaigh, Deputy Secretary-General to the President; Mr. Colm Ó Floinn, Director-General, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Mr. Adrian O’Neill, Second Secretary-General at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Ms. Síle Maguire, Chief of Protocol, Mr. Joe Brennan, Ms. Claire Buckley AND Ms. Catherine Campbell, Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The Ambassadors were escorted to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2nd Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin, under the command of Lieutenant Fionn McCaffrey.
20th Jan – A Guard of Honour was provided at Áras an Uachtaráin by the 3rd Infantry Battalion, Stephens Barracks, Kilkenny, under the command of Lieutenant Steve Byrne.
21st Jan - A Guard of Honour was provided at Áras an Uachtaráin by the 1st Mechanised Infantry Company, Defence Forces Training Centre, The Curragh Camp, Co. Kildare, under the command of Lieutenant Darragh Kennedy.
Captain Fergal Carroll conducted the Army No. 1 Band.
