Statement from President Higgins on the earthquake in Iran and Iraq

'May I, on behalf of the people of Ireland, extend deepest sympathy to the people of the border regions of Iran and Iraq who have lost members of their families, suffered injuries and lost homes as a result of the recent earthquake.
May they receive the urgent assistance, and the solidarity, they need from the global community and their institutions.
