President Michael D. Higgins and his wife, Sabina, have a full day of public engagements this St. Patrick’s Day.

The President and Sabina will attend mass in Dublin’s St. Mary’s Pro-Cathedral on Monday morning where they will be met on arrival by Archbishop Diarmuid Martin and Principal Celebrant, Father Liam O’Cuiv.

After mass the President and Sabina will view the St. Patrick’s Day parade from the grandstand on O’Connell Street. They will be met there by Chief Executive Officer of the St. Patrick’s Day Festival, Susan Kirby, and Chairman of the Festival, Judith Woodworth.

Following the Parade, the President will go to Croke Park where the AIB GAA All-Ireland Senior Club Championship Finals are being held.

At 4.30pm the President and Sabina will host a reception at Áras an Uachtaráin for volunteers and staff of NGOs who work with the homeless community in Ireland. Entertainment will be provided by renowned singer Seán Keane, soprano Aimee Dyer and members of Na Píobairí Uilleann.

On Tuesday evening the President and Sabina will attend the National Concert Hall for a special St. Patrick’s Day concert in honour of master piper, Liam O’Flynn.

The President has sent a St. Patrick’s Day message to Irish people at home and worldwide, through Ireland’s network of embassies and missions abroad.
