The President, Michael D. Higgins, has conveyed his warmest congratulations to Dundalk Football Club, its President, Manager, players and supporters, following their 3-1 agg. victory over Belarusian side BATE Borisov. President Higgins described last night's performance by Dundalk as one of the most impressive displays by an Irish club in recent years.
"I am sure that all Irish soccer fans share my delight in this remarkable achievement against quality opponents and will wish Dundalk every success in the forthcoming play-off for a place in the Champions League Group Stage".
