President Michael D. Higgins congratulates Paul O'Donovan on winning rowing Gold

President Michael D. Higgins has today congratulated Paul O’Donovan on winning a gold medal in the Lightweight Men’s Single Sculls at the World Rowing Championships in Rotterdam:
“Paul O’Donovan’s remarkable mental and physical strength has now, a short time after his Silver medal in Rio, brought him a gold medal at the 2016 World Rowing Championships.
His success has enthralled people across the country and today, on behalf of the people of Ireland, I send my congratulations to him on winning this richly deserved gold medal.”
