New Ambassadors present Credentials

Their Excellencies, the Ambassadors of the Republic of Kenya, the Republic of Guinea and the Republic of Singapore presented their Letters of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin today.
 
H.E. Mr. Richard Angulu Opembe, Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya, was accompanied by his wife, Suzanne Wanjiro Gachukia Opembe, their children Mr. Jesse Eshikhati Opembe, Ms. Appalonia Chao Opembe  and Mr. Miles Khayumbi Gachukia Kibukosy and by Mrs. Immaculate N. Wambua, Minister Counsellor at the Embassy.
 
H.E. Mr. Paul Goa Zoumanigui, Ambassador of the Republic of Guinea, was accompanied by Mr. Jean Emile Curtis, First Secretary at the Embassy.
 
H.E. Ms. FOO Chi Hsia, Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore, was accompanied by Mr. MAK Yong Yang, Second Secretary at the Embassy.
 
Mr. Seán Sherlock, T.D., Minister of State for Development, Trade Promotion and North-South Cooperation at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, represented the Government at the ceremony. 
 
The following were also present:  Mr. Art O’Leary, Secretary-General to the President; Mr. Colm Ó Floinn, Director-General, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Ms. Síle Maguire, Chief of Protocol, Mr. Joe Brennan and Ms. Claire Buckley,  Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
 
The Ambassadors were escorted to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2nd Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin, under the command of Lieutenant Fionn McCaffrey.  
 
A Guard of Honour was provided at Áras an Uachtaráin by the 3rd Infantry Battalion, Stephens Barracks, Kilkenny, under the command of Lieutenant Steve Byrne.  
 
Captain Fergal Carroll conducted the Army No. 1 Band.
