Speech at a Garden Party marking the International Day of Yoga

On 21 June, President Michael D. Higgins and Sabina Higgins once again opened up Áras an Uachtaráin to members of the public, for the 6th event in a series of summer Garden Parties. 
This event was focused on the theme of yoga and well-being, in celebration of an ancient tradition that embodies unity of mind and body, thought and action, as recognised by the United Nations.

President gives an address at the Living Well Together Beyond 2016 conference

On 4 June, President Michael D. Higgins visited Ballycastle, where he gave the gave the keynote address at a conference entitled "Living Well Together Beyond 2016".

He spoke of 'ethical remembering' and 'narrative hospitality' and drew on his knowledge of the Irish language and classical learning to illustrate his thoughts.
