On 6 August, President Higgins formally opened the 2020 Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann.
Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann is the world’s largest celebration of Irish music, language, song and dance. This year, the Fleadh was due to take place in Mullingar, where the first event was hosted in 1951. Because of COVID-19, however, the event has had to be cancelled, and its format re-imagined.
Fleadh2020 is a series of programmes to be broadcast from Mullingar, on 4 consecutive evenings on TG4.
