President is bestowed the honorary title of “President of the University of Galway Literary and Debating Society”

President Higgins will be bestowed the honorary title of “President of the University of Galway Literary and Debating Society” in Áras an Uachtaráin.
 
The Literary and Debating Society is a student society at the University of Galway. It was founded as the Literary and Scientific Society in 1846, and incorporated into the then Queen's College, Galway, in 1852.
