Gaelic Football and Hurling have been played across Australia and New Zealand for many decades by Irish immigrants keen to maintain a connection with their sport. These days men, women, boys and girls from all backgrounds play Gaelic games and both Ladies Football and Camogie are experiencing particularly strong growth.
The Gaelic Football and Hurling Association of Australasia holds an annual Championships over four days in early October for teams representing the individual states of Australia.
