President Higgins launched a coin commemorating 'Thin Lizzy' frontman Phil Lynott.
The launch took place at St Kevin's College in Crumlin, the musician's former school, and the event marked 70 years since his birth.
The Central Bank will issue 3,000 of the special coins.
In his speech, the President spoke about Phil Lynott's work, and of the importance of art and creativity, encouraging the students to allow their creativity to move and emancipate them.
