The President gave an address at the University of New South Wales on Ethical Remembering, one of the key themes in the President's work.
In his speech, the President said that Ireland would confront “grave and difficult matters” as it marks the centenaries of the 1919-21 War of Independence and the 1922-23 Civil War, and called for an openness to the multiple interpretations of the past, with an ethical regard for the experiences of others.
