President Connolly was invited invited to open the National Young Carers Conference in UCD.
The conference focused on the ‘The Real Lives of Young Carers’ and present/presented academic research from UCD, UCC and UL completed with young carers around Ireland.
There are over 500,000 family carers in Ireland, more than half of whom are balancing care with paid employment.
