President Michael D Higgins was the guest of honour at a special two-hour programme entitled TG4XX Beo, to mark the 20th anniversary of the opening of TG4.
During the live TV programme, President Higgins gave an address in which he paid tribute to the creativity, dedication and talent of the people who had worked for station, and he said TG4 had taken its rightful place among the world's broadcasters.
