President and Sabina Higgins attended an event commemorating the role of the Irish Citizen Army and James Connolly in the Easter Rising of 1916.
In his speech, the President referred to inequality in 1916 and 2016 and praised Connolly and the Irish Citizen Army for seeking a free and fairer Ireland.
