Statement on shooting in the Netherlands

As President of Ireland, may I express my deep sadness and the grief of the people of Ireland following the news of the tragic events in the Dutch city of Utrecht, in which several people lost their lives and others have been seriously injured.
At this difficult moment for the people of the Netherlands, may I express the heartfelt sympathies of the people of Ireland with the families and friends of the victims.
