Upcoming State Visit by President of Italy

H.E. Mr. Sergio Mattarella, President of the Republic of Italy will arrive on a State Visit to Ireland on Wednesday 14 February. 

On the morning of Wednesday 14 February, the State Visit will commence with a formal welcome ceremony at Áras an Uachtaráin, followed by a meeting between both Heads of State.   

In keeping with tradition, President Mattarella will inspect a Guard of Honour at Áras an Uachtaráin, followed by a 21-gun salute and a flypast performed by the Air Corps. 

President Mattarella will also plant a tree in the grounds of Áras an Uachtaráin, as a symbol of the friendship that binds the two countries. 

On the evening of 14 February, the President and Mrs. Higgins will host a State Dinner at Áras an Uachtaráin in honour of President Mattarella.
