Ambassadors present their credentials

Their Excellencies, the Ambassadors of the Slovak Republic, Peru and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg presented their Letters of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin.

* H.E. Mr. Igor Pokojný, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic was accompanied by his daughters, Miss Dana Pokojná and Miss Hana Pokojná and the Deputy Head of Mission, Mr. Branislav Pochaba.

* H.E. Ms. Carmen McEvoy, Ambassador of Peru, was accompanied by her spouse Mr. Enrique Madico, her daughter Ms. Mariana Madico and the Deputy Head of Mission, Mr. Alberto Gonzales.

* H.E. Mr. Jean Olinger, Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, was accompanied by his spouse Mrs. Véronique Olinger-Masquelin and the Deputy Head of Mission, Mr Jean Claude Kugener.

Ms. Helen McEntee TD, Minister for European Affairs, represented the Government at the ceremony.

The following were also present:  Mr. Art O’Leary, Secretary-General to the President; Col. Michael Kiernan, Aide-de-Camp to the President; Mr. James Kingston, Legal Advisor in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Mr. Feilim McLaughlin, Mr. Joe Brennan and Ms. Claire Buckley, Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The Ambassadors were escorted to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2 Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin, under the command of Lieutenant Brian O’Shea. A Guard of Honour was provided at Áras an Uachtaráin by the 27 Infantry Battalion, Aiken Barracks, Dundalk under the command of Lieutenant Martin McMahon. Captain Fergal Carrol conducted the Army No. 1 Band, Cathal Bruagh Barracks, Dublin.
